Interesting. Just a ploy to jumpstart their dwindling readership much like the death of Superman?

I don't think it's so bad. A ploy to get reader's interested? Sounds like they're just making it MORE INTERESTING. LOL. People don't like reading about superheros solving problems and beating up bad guys all the time. Part of the reason these comics were successful in the first place was the meshing of ordinary issues with the extraordinary. It's why I'll always love Xmen. And why Wolverine is my fav...so much mystery to write about.

The old spiderman story is dated. I never understood why spiderman needed to hide behind a mask anyway. Alot of his opponents back in the day were specifically after him and many created situations to draw him out anyway. Now at least innocent people won't be put into traps to get at spider-man, they'll just go straight to the daily bugle.
