I can't stand that Sony won. I still don't want to buy a PS3, and yet it'll be one of the cheapest Blu Ray drives around. So now I'm hoping for a Xbox360 Blu Ray player, which I've heard is not out of the question...

yeah i snagged a toshiba HD-A3 a month before the big Warner announcement. It was under $200 though so I don't really feel that badly about it. It still works as a DVD player better than the 360 does.

I won't be buying Blu-ray until the prices drop significantly, though.

i never adopt when there's two formats. all they were doing was keeping each other's prices up. dvd is fine for me for now. not to mention that i don't even own an hdtv ;-)

I like the fact that HD-DVD was exactly what it said it was, a high def dvd.

I don't really like the name Blue Ray. It sounds stupid, but now I can just call blue ray HD-DVD because it's a high def dvd and now there is no rival format using the name HD-DVD!
