So yeah, I can't remember the last time I did a blog without a video or something, but I need to say this. If people are giving you advice on how to solve a computer issue, please do NOT spew all the theories you know about the hardware/software in question and then not try the fix because you don't think it's relevant.

I just now finished trading utterly polite replies with a guy on a forum saying that TF2 wasn't working, and what I really wanted to do was chew his head off for being an amazing DICK and nerding out on everyone with his knowledge of various buses found on a mobo. We've told him that because of his pitiful hardware (NF2 board, half a gig of ram, a "1337" 15K rpm scsi drive, integrated and PCI nics) that he should either 1) upgrade the ram, or 2) try the other nic. So instead of doing any of that, he proceeds to lecture us on how using the PCI nic (a 3com card, so it's not like it sucks) would "burden the PCI bus" and that it's more efficient to use the nic that's directly on the mobo.

When the fuck have you seen a network card burdening a PCI bus? Hell, when was the last time you've seen a home PC's mobo stacked with PCI cards in each slot? Not only does he ignore the ram issue, he goes on to rebuff any attempts at getting him to just TRY the damn nic, saying that WE are focusing on the wrong issue. How about you focus getting your dick out of your mouth and switching your connection over to the 3com card. Or buy some fucking ram for your Win2K POS.

Fuck you, old PC guy. You suck. I hope TF2 melts your computer.

...The End.

I don't know how many times i've replied on a forum only to have the person try to convince me that the fix I suggested wouldn't work without him even trying it. I usually just move on.

On a related topic, I hate when I have a question, I list out the things i've tried, and someone replies telling me to try something i've already tried.
